We have upgraded our rubber tracked loader to a," Bobcat T770" with a " Fecon" masticator head.
Check out the video below to see the masticator in action! (if you can't see the video, please click here to install quicktime)
By definition, “Mastication” means; to chew and/or grind and knead. ‘Mulching” is defined as: Providing any loose covering for exposed forest soils, such as grass, straw, bark, or wood fibers, to help control erosion and protect exposed soils.
This combination will enable us to grind slash near where trees have been taken down. The resulting mulch is a favorable seed bed for grasses and other desirable forest plants.
The masticator is not for all jobs, but for larger thinning projects our productivity greatly increases.
The larger rubber tracked loader allows us to move more and larger material at a faster pace. The tracked loader is gentle on the ground with 4.3 pounds per square inch ground pressure. The footprint of the loader is 11 feet in length and 6 feet in width.
